Iggy and Ziggy - Cleveland '77

I have just about everything David Bowie has ever done, but I decided to check iTunes to see if he had put anything new out. His last release came as a complete surprise to me, and I had to pick it up during family weekend of basic training (thanks, Mom.) Bowie has become one of those frustrating artists with whom a cd is neither terrible nor terribly good. That being said, Realityis pretty good all the way through.

So as I was looking through the music listed on iTunes, I saw Iggy & Ziggy: Cleveland '77. Someone warned in a review that the one linked from the David Bowie sight is screwed up, but I found it somewhere else and downloaded it. Well, worth the money.

Few people realize that two of Iggy Pop's best and most well known albums The Idiotand Lust for Life
are just as much David Bowie albums and they are Iggy Pop albums. This cd is great, because you get to hear and awesome Iggy concert with Bowie on piano and singing backup. This was something I remember seeing video clips of and thinking, "wow, that would be one hell of a concert." And from this recording, it really sounds like it was. The quality is quite good, and Iggy and the band sound great.

If you're a fan of either artist, I definitely recommend this cd. I also bought VH1 Storytellerswhich is worth getting just to hear him makeup for what he did to "China Girl" back in the 80s. This version is closer to the version Iggy did, sounds fuller and darker.
